Why did you start this organization?
The founders of No Black Girl Left Behind began by prioritizing self-care during the intense stress of their doctoral program. Each month, they dedicated time for self-care days, recognizing the need to recharge and take care of themselves. During one of these conversations, the phrase TEAM NO BLACK GIRL LEFT BEHIND was born.
This moment highlighted the importance of not only caring for oneself but also being surrounded by a community of Black women who value each other’s well-being. The founders understood the power of building lifelong connections and the vital role that uplifting and inspiring one another plays in our collective success.
Through this organization, we aim to create a space where Black women can come together, support each other, and thrive—ensuring that no Black woman is ever left behind.
